Stone Training Academy

Stone have built up their own training academy for apprentices which is run by Stone’s company director Wendy Long. The apprenticeship Stone offers to all apprentices is a 2 year NVQ/City & Guilds level 2 qualification followed by the level 3 qualification. We take on Apprentices aged between 16-19yrs.

Stone now has 2 members of staff who are qualified to train our apprentices which covers every aspect in hairdressing.

Wendy Long is a City & Guilds qualified trainer & assessor. This means Wendy teaches hairdressing in all areas and then once an apprentice is confident in a service Wendy can then assess them for their qualification. Wendy is also a Wella Master Colour Expert.

Fae Hatton who is a qualified educator can train and assess our apprentices alongside Wendy and is also is a Wella Master Colour Expert. Fae has worked as an international award winning colour Specialist with Wella Professionals for 12 years and has educated and inspired hairdressers all over the country, teaching practical and theory work on colour.

Stone’s Training Academy works along side a company called ITS (Inter Training Services.) ITS is an approved City & Guilds Apprenticeship hairdressing provider that helps our trainees complete their theory work and providdes other additional support, for example, functional skills.

Stone’s Training Academy runs weekly on a Tuesday from 9-5pm and all our apprentices are fully supervised by one of our high quality trainers who help to determine what is best for each individual and guide them into learning the correct skills in client consultation, cutting, styling, colouring, perming and retail products so they learn how to meet every clients’ needs.

All our apprentices learn their practical training on live head models. Stone’s training academy are always looking for models for our apprentices to learn and be assessed on in all aspects of hairdressing.
