Managed by our co-founder Wendy Long and her talented team of professional stylists, this salon combines a calm, welcoming atmosphere with outstanding technical expertise.

Our Team

Wendy Long
COMPANY DIRECTOR

Wendy is the Owner/Director of Stone Moordown.

Wendy has over 35 years experience in the hairdressing industry. Wendy has owned the Moordown salon for over 20 years.

Throughout Wendy’s career she has achieved many things in hairdressing such as her Master Colour Expert Qualification which recognises her as being one of the top colourists in the country – this involves continuous colour training. Her speciality in colour offers our clients a totally bespoke service.

Wendy also has her City & Guilds Assessors & Trainer Qualification which has enabled her to set up her own Apprentice Training School at Stone Moordown.

Wendy’s passion in hairdressing never ends, to continue her success she is a 4 time Wella Trendvision UK Regional Semi-Finalist and 3 time Wella Trendvision UK Finalist – in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Wendy competed against the top 20 finalists at the live finals at London’s famous Roundhouse in Camden. She competed admirably against some of the most prestigious hairdressers in the industry.

Fae Bolt
SALON DIRECTOR

Fae has nearly 30 years experience in hairdressing and has worked for the Stone family for over 8 years. Previously before joining Stone Fae worked for Wella Professionals for 12 years as an International Award Winning Colour Specialist – educating and inspiring salons and hairdressers all over the UK.

Fae is recognised very highly in the UK as being one of the top Master Colour Experts in the industry. Her speciality in colour offers our clients a totally bespoke consultation and service that individually suits their needs.

Fae’s passion in hairdressing never ends to continue her success she became a Regional/semi-finalist in the 2020 Wella Trendvision Award competition. Also she loves attending continuous training courses to improve her cutting and colouring knowledge.

She was also an integral part of the Unite Styling Team in September 2024 at London Fashion Week styling for their Spring/Summer 2025 looks.

This wealth of knowledge in hairdressing for Fae offers our clients all aspects not only in colour but also in ladies cutting, dressing and gents cutting and styling.

Ellie Brown
GRADUATE STYLIST

Ellie joined the Stone Team as an apprentice in the summer of 2022 and graduated as a Level 2 Stylist in September 2024. During her apprenticeship, she gained a high standard of skills which she now offers to her clients. She loves meeting new people and says she is excited about further developing her skills in colouring and cutting. She has already transformed the look of many clients and loves their happy reaction to her work!

Lily Down
APPRENTICE

Lily started as a Saturday girl with Stone in January 2024, becoming an apprentice in July 2024. She is loving learning about all aspects of the hairdressing industry from cutting and colouring through to customer service and the importance of the smooth running of the salon.
